John Scanlon has over 35 years of operating and advisory experience in the telecom, data center and cloud services industries. His most recent operating role was as chief executive officer of 365 Data Centers, where he was brought in after the company defaulted on its loan agreements. John and his team executed a successful turnaround leading to sustained revenue growth. 365 was sold in multiple transactions creating a significant return for investors.

John also served as CEO of Yipes Enterprises Services, which he joined after the company emerged from bankruptcy. At Yipes, he and his team created one of the first companies to offer global Ethernet services. The company grew rapidly and was later acquired by Reliance Communications (India) for a significant premium to its peers. For his innovative work at Yipes, John was recognized by Network World as one of “The 50 Most Powerful People in Networking”.

Previous to Yipes, John spent many years at Internap Corporation serving as its vice president of marketing, CFO and head of corporate development. Before joining Internap, John had co-founded his own international telecom company, which he later sold to Viatel (UK). John began his career at MCI (now Verizon) and served in many finance, marketing and business development roles over his long tenure.

John holds an MBA from St. Mary’s College of California where he graduated with honors. He earned his undergraduate degree at Oregon State University.
