Insight Recall Offsite Replication Service Leverages Internap’s Network and Data Center Colocation
ORANGE, Calif., March 4, 2009 – Insight Investments Corp., a leading independent lessor of IT and medical equipment, today announced that its new Insight Recall Division (https://www.insightrecall.com) will deliver data replication and recovery services to small and medium-size enterprises using network and data center colocation services from Internap Network Services Corporation (NASDAQ: INAP), a global provider of end-to-end Internet business solutions.
The Insight Recall offsite replication service allows mid-market customers to perform frequent backups of critical data and quickly restore this critical data if required. The service requires an intelligently designed and expertly managed data center, certified to the highest industry standards and compliance requirements, including SAS70, that features 24/7/365 power, cooling, connectivity and security capabilities to ensure mission-critical operations and business continuity.
According to marketing director David Carpenter, Insight Investments considered building out its own internal data center, but the challenges proved burdensome. “We decided to outsource while retaining all the original requirements,” Carpenter explained. “Internap fulfilled all these requirements, while being one of the few financially viable and cost effective providers of their type. They also provided an additional benefit in the form of their ‘smart bandwidth.’ Because Insight Recall moves very large amounts of data over the Internet, the quality of the bandwidth was critically important.”
“Internap’s Data Center Colocation and Performance IP networking are an excellent fit for Insight Recall as the solution is engineered for 100% reliability and global reach,” said Mike Higgins, general manager and vice president of data center services at Internap. “The bundled solution is based on Internap’s global platform of data centers, Private Network Access Points (P-NAPs) that interconnect multiple Internet backbones and MIRO (Managed Internet Route Optimizer™) patented route optimization technology that monitors network performance and selects the best path for data to travel.”
