The logic behind the hybrid cloud concept is undeniable: Integration of public cloud resources, with their inherent flexibility and economies of scale, and private cloud, with its security and increased control, should provide many enterprises with the perfect combination of infrastructure and resources for their applications to run at peak performance. In execution, however, today’s typical hybrid cloud is an accidental amalgam of services that conflict, rather than complement. Enterprises must move to the next generation of hybrid cloud, building environments with forethought and purpose instead of attempting to stitch together applications after the fact.
