At a recent open house event at Internap’s Secaucus, N.J., data center, Raj Dutt, Internap’s SVP of Technology, discussed two different approaches to infrastructure – scale up vs scale out. While scaling up is normally associated with traditional enterprise IT, and scaling out is considered a more modern method, building an environment that is the best fit for your applications often requires some of both.
